About RSS on this site and how to use it

What is RSS?
RSS can stand for any of three terms. Really Simple Syndication, Rich Site Summary and RDF Site Summary. Many websites use it to notify those that wish to receive the RSS Feeds about updates to a website or other useful news about the site and/or the world.

How do I use RSS?
Everytime there is a significant update to this website, an update will be made to the RSS Feed.
If you wish to receive the RSS Feed you will need a special RSS news reader or aggregator. RSS news readers allow you automatically receive updates from the RSS Feed. There are many readers available and most are free. There is a list of RSS Readers you can choose from, or you can look up "RSS reader aggregator" in your favorite search engine.
I prefer to get my RSS Feeds in Mozilla Thunderbird. Thunderbird is a full-featured email application with built-in RSS capabilities. You can learn more about how to view RSS Feeds in Thunderbird from the MozillaZine website.

How can I start receiving the Feed?
To start receiving this RSS Feed, you can simply click on this RSS button. Clicking this button should take you to the RSS Feed, just copy and paste the URL of the Feed into your RSS Reader to automatically "subscribe" to this Feeds. You can also receive RSS Feeds inside some web browsers. Mozilla calls this method "Live Bookmarks".

What are "Live Bookmarks" and how can I get them?
In some web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera, you will see an icon in the address bar. Click on this icon to start receiving the RSS Feed directly inside the browser itself. Internet Explorer 6.0 and below can not receive RSS Feeds, but Internet Explorer 7.0 will be able to.

What does the RSS icon in the browser look like?
In Mozilla Firefox and Opera 9 the icon is an orange square, but in Opera 8 and below the icon is blue with the word "RSS" inside.
RSS support in Internet Explorer started in version 7. If you have IE6 or below, you can't view RSS content in the browser. In IE7 the icon is the same orange square Mozilla Firefox and Opera 9 use, with the added word "Feeds (J)" next to it.
